Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Create, enhance, and sustain sophisticated automated acceptance and end-to-end testing frameworks to facilitate a dependable continuous delivery pipeline.

• Work collaboratively to assess and scrutinize functional and technical requirements with business analysts and developers, ensuring thorough test coverage.

• Actively pinpoint system components, edge cases, and architectural friction points that would benefit from improved verification and testing emphasis.

• Engage proactively in the software development lifecycle through pair programming, knowledge sharing, and technical discussions across teams.

• Conduct focused exploratory testing sessions to uncover hidden failure modes and guarantee a thoroughly validated end-user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in validating individual software components and managing end-to-end system tests.

• Proven ability to design and test failure scenarios, resilience, and system edge cases.

• Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, with a preference for core Java.

• Extensive experience with structured exploratory testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) environment management and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes is highly beneficial.

• Experience working within Extreme Programming (XP) frameworks or structured pair programming practices is advantageous.

• Practical experience with API Testing methodologies is a plus.

• Background in utilizing Selenium for UI Automation and front-end verification is advantageous.

• Knowledge of distributed, asynchronous, or event-driven system architectures is a plus.

• Understanding of core networking protocols and messaging frameworks is an advantage.

• Domain expertise in Electronic Trading platforms across any asset class, with a strong preference for Fixed Income markets is a plus.
