Senior Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Serves as a senior member of the embedded agile team, delivering technical leadership during sprint planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring that sprint and release quality objectives are achieved.

• Guides the implementation and advancement of HES Quality Assurance standards, which include test stage ownership, entrance and exit criteria, Definition of Done, and audit readiness across teams.

• Takes ownership of the test strategy and approach for designated products or initiatives, ensuring comprehensive coverage across functional, integration, regression, performance, and risk-based testing.

• Designs, develops, and sustains robust, scalable automated test solutions utilizing approved frameworks and tools (e.g., PlayWright, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Rest Assured, Allure), facilitating UI, API, batch, and data validation testing.

• Directs and improves the automation strategy and regression suites, pinpointing opportunities to enhance stability, execution speed, maintainability, and overall return on investment.

• Integrates and sustains automated tests within CI/CD pipelines, aiding in sprint-level and release-level quality gates using Azure DevOps and associated tools.

• Manages test governance within Azure DevOps, ensuring the production of high-quality test artifacts, traceability, execution evidence, and insightful reporting.

• Offers technical guidance and mentorship to Test Engineers and team members, advocating for testing standards, best practices, and contemporary methodologies (e.g., BDD, TDD, exploratory testing, and shift-left testing).

• Collaborates with product owners, architects, developers, and stakeholders to proactively identify quality risks, influence designs for testability, and drive defect prevention efforts.

• Leads or assists in intricate production issue investigations, including root-cause analysis, validation of solutions, and recommendations for quality enhancements.

• Effectively communicates testing status, quality risks, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders, escalating issues that could affect delivery timelines or product quality.

• Participates in process improvement initiatives, tooling enhancements, and shared resources that reinforce Quality Engineering capabilities across teams.

• Actively engages in Communities of Practice and stays updated on industry trends, emerging tools, and quality engineering practices to continuously advance HES QA maturity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and over six years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Certified Software Tester (CSTE)

• Certified Software Quality Assurance (CSQA)

• Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)

• Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL)

• Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP)
