Senior QA Automation Engineer, Python, Selenium, Pytest

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive testing architecture – plan unit, integration, E2E, and semantic validation test suites that encompass the entire pipeline from profile intake to roadmap generation; establish coverage targets and acceptance criteria.

• Create semantic validation harnesses for AI outputs – design golden-set test cases (5–8 CISO-approved reference profiles) that assess AI stage precision/recall, correctness of rigor-tier, invariants of floor-control, completeness of traceability, and consistency across runs; a semantic regression blocks merge.

• Execute access-control testing – design automated probes at the API and database layers to confirm cross-tenant isolation; simulate compromised sessions and ensure RLS policies uphold tenant boundaries.

• Establish and sustain CI/CD quality gates – develop automated test runners that operate on every commit, including unit tests, integration tests, schema validation, migration guards, image scanning, and access-control probes; red builds prevent merging.

• Spearhead test automation methodologies – enhance automation frameworks and practices; pinpoint opportunities for refining test processes; suggest tools and technologies to boost testing efficiency.

• Collaborate with the team – act as the QA advocate in technical design reviews; identify testability challenges early on; partner with the AI/LLM Lead to clarify what "correct" signifies at each stage of the pipeline.

• Guide junior test engineers – mentor the team on test design, semantic validation, and CI/CD best practices; impart knowledge on testing AI systems where reproducibility is essential.

• Manage test documentation and reporting – uphold clear test plans, results, and traceability matrices; communicate test coverage and quality metrics to leadership; transparently report blockers and risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in software QA with a proven track record of:

• Developing test strategies, planning, execution, and maintenance.

• Comprehensive test documentation and traceability.

• Advanced test automation (custom frameworks, advanced scripting).

• More than 3 years of experience with automated testing tools – Selenium, Pytest, or similar; capability to create custom testing frameworks.

• Advanced proficiency in a programming language pertinent to test automation:

• Python (primary for this role; Pytest, async testing).

• Or Java, C#, Go.

• Extensive knowledge of databases and SQL – perform complex data validation, confirm multi-tenant isolation at the database layer, and test RLS policies.

• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines – comprehend how tests are integrated into automated deployment workflows; experience in optimizing test execution for speed and reliability.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies – ability to drive QA strategies in fast-paced, iterative development cycles.

• Proficiency in defect tracking (Jira or a similar tool).

• Demonstrated leadership – mentor junior engineers, champion quality standards, and promote process enhancements.

• Excellent communication skills – convey complex technical issues clearly to engineers, product teams, and stakeholders.

• Self-driven and detail-oriented – work independently under time constraints, managing multiple priorities effectively.

• Exceptional command of English – collaborate efficiently with distributed, global teams.
