Software Development Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive frameworks to validate customer journey flows and complete end-to-end scenarios.

• Create tools and frameworks that will be utilized by developers for feature testing.

• Establish and execute testing integration points within deployment pipelines.

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable testing plans that the development team will adopt.

• Define the scope and procedures for quality engineering in the application.

• Create and sustain automated test scripts using Appium, Kotest, and Cypress.

• Identify the most effective automation framework to facilitate developer-driven testing.

• Design and develop agent-driven test automation frameworks across web, API, and mobile platforms.

• Generate AI agents for test case creation based on product specifications, user flows, and historical defects.

• Implement self-healing automation to enhance test stability and minimize maintenance efforts.

• Conduct API testing focusing on resiliency, latency, and performance.

• Expand tests to include automated build tests.

• Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand customer requirements, application features, and database utilization.

• Create reusable components to be distributed as libraries and packages.

• Diagnose issues using logging solutions and ascertain unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.

• Engage with service teams through proof of concepts and workshops to enhance the testing lifecycle.

• Support the implementation of quality within CI/CD pipelines and determine the timing, location, and method for executing tests.

• Own testing metrics, identify gaps, and report these metrics to drive continuous improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a software development engineer in test.

• Proven experience in building and utilizing mobile and web automation with Appium and Cypress.

• Familiarity with API automation frameworks like Rest Assured and Kotest.

• Hands-on experience or keen interest in AI/LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation.

• Experience with self-healing automation frameworks for mobile, web, and API testing.

• Strong communication skills and ability to plan automation enablement with the development team.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to analyze complex issues in large systems.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or similar providers.

• In-depth knowledge of testing APIs and microservices.

• Proven track record of effectively triaging bugs to their root causes.

• Ability to swiftly learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Familiarity with JIRA and Atlassian products, including work management and dashboards.

• Nice to have: experience in non-functional testing automation and tools like K6/JMeter.

• Nice to have: experience in GraphQL testing.

• Preferred: knowledge of testing processes, open-source testing frameworks, test design strategies, test cases, and Java automation using JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, and Appium.

• Nice to have: previous consulting experience.

• Nice to have: aptitude for leading in ambiguous situations and resolving technical challenges.
