Software Developer Level 2, SAS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Write accurate and dependable C++ code for Kraken’s real-time SAS systems, implementing new features and enhancing existing components.

• Collaborate with senior developers to assess, discuss, and document architectural choices.

• Partner with the technical manager and project manager to estimate tasks, organize development, and synchronize delivery with team milestones.

• Mentor junior developers as necessary while cultivating technical expertise under the guidance of senior team members.

• Engage with the CI pipeline to ensure stable builds, execute automated tests, and assist in supporting reliable release candidates.

• Occasionally assist with sea trials by testing and validating the performance of SAS systems in real-world scenarios.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

• Strong expertise in developing mission-critical C++ applications for embedded Linux environments.

• Extensive experience with CMake build systems, version control systems, and testing methodologies.

• High standards in design coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously as part of a remote team in an agile setting.

• Understanding of software engineering principles, including testing, continuous integration, data structures, and best practices in agile development.

• Preferred: experience in software development within the underwater robotics sector.

• Preferred: familiarity with the Nvidia Jetson computing platform.

• Preferred: knowledge of gRPC, containerization technologies like Docker, and service architectures.

• Preferred: advanced comprehension of data communications protocols and networking.

• Preferred: hands-on experience in sonar operations or digital signal processing.
