Software Developer – Legacy Applications, C#/.NET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Enhance and stabilize the current C#/.NET backend application ecosystem

• Troubleshoot bugs and analyze issues across interconnected applications

• Conduct focused refactoring and progressively implement automated testing

• Replicate reported issues using the information available

• Engage with users during the error analysis process

• Document the causes and solutions effectively

• Ensure that bug fixes do not introduce new side effects

• Identify significant maintainability challenges

• Streamline complex methods and classes

• Minimize code duplication and enhance source-code clarity

• Establish clear responsibilities within classes

• Remove evident anti-patterns

• Enhance error handling, logging, exception management, validation, and plausibility checks

• Develop tests for modified or refactored components

• Create phased test coverage for essential business logic

• Generate regression tests for resolved bugs

• Assist with code reviews and implement feedback in a traceable manner

• Communicate risks and impacts of changes proactively

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in software development using C# and .NET

• Experience in maintaining and further developing legacy systems

• Proficient in object-oriented programming

• Familiar with Visual Studio and Git

• Knowledgeable in analyzing intricate existing codebases

• Experienced in debugging

• Ability to assess and enhance existing software architectures

• Experience in refactoring while maintaining existing functionality

• Understanding of Clean Code principles

• Proven experience in reducing technical debt

• Proficient in unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest

• Capable of introducing automated tests into existing applications

• Familiar with mocking frameworks like Moq

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for building and deploying applications in Azure DevOps is a plus
