Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications according to project specifications.

• Create clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code while adhering to industry best practices in software development.

• Partner with developers and cross-functional teams to conceptualize and implement software features.

• Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Aid in the development and integration of REST APIs and components for web applications.

• Manage application data using databases and SQL for storage and retrieval.

• Detect and resolve software bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical obstacles.

• Engage in code reviews and apply constructive feedback to enhance code quality.

• Employ Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative project development.

• Develop and execute unit tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of software.

• Assist in the documentation of technical processes, application features, and development methodologies.

• Stay updated with new tools, frameworks, and technologies to bolster ongoing development tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 0–1 year of experience in Software Engineering, Software Development, or a similar technical position.

• Solid grasp of programming fundamentals and object-oriented programming concepts.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, including Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

• Understanding of REST APIs and foundational web application concepts.

• Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and fundamental database principles.

• Experience with Git and GitHub for version management.

• Comprehension of software development life cycle (SDLC) principles.

• Familiarity with debugging, testing, and writing maintainable code.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project needs.

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

• A drive to build reliable software and continually enhance technical expertise.

• Preferred: Involvement in academic projects, internships, or personal projects related to software development.

• Preferred: Knowledge of frontend frameworks like React or backend frameworks such as Node.js, Django, or Spring Boot.
