Tech Lead, Android Core Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant features and collaborate closely with the design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality functionalities within the app.

• Help shape the future direction of the Android team.

• Manage, maintain, and enhance reliability metrics for essential features.

• Engage in discussions with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.

• Review pull requests and provide support to fellow team members.

• Address critical issues and effectively handle unexpected challenges.

• Take charge of feature releases and supply nightly builds for the QA team.

• Assist the new Android user base and participate in new projects to enhance the product.

• Make product decisions and create user experiences that captivate users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.

• Knowledge of Android components.

• Experience in building or contributing to at least one Android application.

• Strong intuition for product design and empathy for users.

• Motivation to push the limits of Android UI/UX.

• Comprehension of the significance of testing and strategies for writing tests.

• Self-motivation to enhance the app and codebase beyond what is specified.

• Solid expertise in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• A user-focused problem-solving mindset.

• Proactive in seeking continuous feedback from leadership.

• Experience in building, maintaining, or contributing to open-source Android projects (bonus).

• Familiarity with iOS, Web, or NodeJS (bonus).
