Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and implement Cloud-Native architecture for the RCN Cloud component systems and the Synthetic Training hub.

• Identify or suggest available Horizon or Synthetic Training Hub Open Source or Commercial components that can be utilized as containers.

• Prepare documentation, which includes but is not limited to: block-level architectural component design diagrams, network traffic diagrams, and swim-lane diagrams.

• Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments for Navy Organizational infrastructure.

• Develop Cloud-Native IaC deployments for Navy Cloud component systems.

• Construct TLA components from source as needed.

• Generate Synthetic Training Hub containers to facilitate cooperative multi-user Modeling and Simulation (M&S) scenarios.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a Canadian University (or one recognized by the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC)) or a relevant College Technical Diploma in the fields of Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in software development.

• At least 4 years of recent experience as a Software Architect involved in the design, development, and deployment of software systems.

• Experience in multiple projects that require deriving functional requirements in Software Architecture systems.

• Proficient in designing complex software systems, including software and IT architecture.

• Skilled in developing intricate software systems encompassing both software and IT architecture.

• Familiarity with Microsoft and Unix/Linux operating system environments.

• Expertise in integrating and testing software within a Software Architecture system.

• Capable of generating, updating, and maintaining software design documentation.

• Proficient in determining and implementing IT infrastructure.

• Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance and Controlled Goods clearances.
