This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Develop, edit, and disseminate captivating content consistently across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram on a daily and weekly basis.
• Create a diverse array of content formats including images of rescued animals, adoption highlights, success narratives, behind-the-scenes insights, donor appreciation material, educational posts on animal welfare, and campaign announcements.
• Craft compelling captions, headlines, and calls to action that resonate with warmth, humanity, and reflect the Pets Sanctuary brand voice.
• Source and edit images and short videos of animals available for adoption and fostering, coordinating with our partner shelter network to acquire visual assets remotely.
• Generate dedicated social media content for animals that are ready for adoption or fostering, including profile posts, featured animal highlights, and urgent appeal content for those who have been waiting the longest.
• Monitor and address adoption and fostering inquiries received via social media, directing interested followers to the appropriate application process.
• Track featured animals and follow up with success story content once they are placed in their forever homes.
• Plan and execute social media fundraising initiatives, including annual giving campaigns, emergency fundraising appeals, and awareness campaigns aligned with national animal welfare dates and events.
• Produce emotionally impactful campaign content that effectively conveys the influence of donations on the animals we rescue.
• Monitor campaign effectiveness and refine content strategy based on engagement and conversion metrics.
• Oversee all Pets Sanctuary social media accounts daily, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely, warm, and on-brand manner.
• Foster genuine relationships with our online community of followers, donors, fosters, and adopters.
• Identify and connect with animal welfare advocates, rescue organizations, and potential partners online to expand our network and visibility.
• Ensure all content published across every platform aligns with the Pets Sanctuary brand voice, visual identity, and mission.
• Maintain a content calendar to plan posts ahead of time and guarantee a steady, consistent presence across all channels.
• Collaborate directly with the leadership team to align social media activities with organizational priorities, campaigns, and announcements.
• Track key performance indicators across all platforms, including follower growth, engagement rates, reach, and campaign performance.
• Provide regular updates to the leadership team regarding social media performance and offer data-driven recommendations for enhancement.
• Stay updated on social media trends, platform algorithm changes, and best practices in nonprofit and animal welfare digital communications.
• At least 2 years of professional experience managing social media accounts, preferably for a nonprofit, animal welfare organization, or cause-driven brand.
• Demonstrated ability to create visually appealing and emotionally engaging content that prompts genuine audience action.
• Strong writing skills with a natural aptitude for matching brand voice and writing in a warm, personable, and conversational style.
• Comfortable working autonomously and managing your own content calendar without daily supervision.
• Proficient with LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, including their content formats, algorithms, and best practices.
• Experience with basic photo editing and graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar applications.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a professional home working environment.
• Genuine passion for animal welfare and the mission of Pets Sanctuary.
• Experience with creating and editing short-form videos for Instagram Reels or Facebook video (Desirable).
• Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, or Later (Desirable).
• Experience with running paid social media advertising campaigns (Desirable).
• Background in nonprofit communications, fundraising campaigns, or cause marketing (Desirable).
• Fully remote position with flexible working hours.
