This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Spearhead the development and enhancement of FRRR's strategy for community philanthropy and sustainable local social and economic infrastructure.
• Direct FRRR's initiatives to assist communities in articulating their goals for local infrastructure and devising context-appropriate pathways.
• Oversee FRRR's support framework for community foundations and not-for-profit accounts, including coordination with the Community Philanthropy Coordinator.
• Establish and nurture relationships with community partners, funders, peer organizations, and sector bodies.
• Represent FRRR in pertinent forums and networks, providing informed insights on place-based practices and community philanthropy.
• Convert strategy, evidence, and learning into actionable frameworks, tools, and guidance for Rural Horizons.
• Keep abreast of advancements in place-based practice, community philanthropy, and rural systems change to guide FRRR's strategic direction.
• Offer effective supervision, coaching, and development to the Community Philanthropy Coordinator, encompassing work planning, feedback, and performance development.
• Promote staff wellbeing and cultivate a positive, accountable, values-driven team culture.
• Contribute to team and organizational planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
• You possess experience in delivering community philanthropy, place-based, or social infrastructure initiatives.
• You demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• You are capable of leading complex projects with independence, sound judgment, and accountability.
• You have experience in leading and developing staff.
• You think strategically and can convert insights into actionable outcomes.
• You communicate and influence effectively across internal teams and external partners.
• You align with community-led approaches and FRRR's core values.
• You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in community development, social sciences, public policy, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
• **Desirable (not essential):** You have experience in rural, remote, or place-based contexts; familiarity with First Nations engagement and community-led methodologies; exposure to policy, systems change, or sector influence work; experience within the not-for-profit or philanthropy sector; and experience collaborating across multi-disciplinary or cross-organizational teams.
