This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Responsible for teaching synchronous online courses utilizing Microsoft Teams.
• Design and structure instructional activities to enhance online student learning and participation.
• Adjust instructional methods and strategies as necessary to address the diverse needs of students.
• Utilize effective teaching and learning approaches to convey subject matter to students.
• Exhibit comprehensive and precise knowledge of their respective field or discipline.
• Link their subject matter with related fields of study.
• Remain informed in their subject area through ongoing professional development, active participation in professional organizations, and attendance at meetings, conferences, or workshops.
• Keep the Student Database consistently updated and accurate regarding student grade records.
• Ensure adherence to accreditation standards concerning instructional quality, scheduled class hours, and CIAT policies and procedures.
• Foster collaboration with fellow staff members and engage in the execution of new projects and ideas.
• Comply with CIAT's business casual dress code. Maintain FERPA compliance and securely manage student data as per institutional policies.
• Possession of the appropriate credential, license, or certification.
• Information Technology Instructors must provide official transcripts of their Master's degree along with active/current certification in the subject they are teaching.
• General Education Instructors: A Master's degree is mandatory, with official transcripts of both bachelor's and master's (or higher) degrees required, showing at least 18 units in the subject being taught.
• Minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field or two years of teaching experience.
• Educational background must be from an accredited institution.
• Preferred advanced subject matter expertise with a dedication to continuous professional development and staying updated with field advancements.
• Strong presentation, communication, and technology skills.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as learning technologies like Canvas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating a high level of reliability.
• Strong multitasking capabilities.
• Efficient and timely problem-solving skills.
• Capacity to collaborate with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success, achieve institutional objectives, and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that honors the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
• Awareness of current trends, best practices, and instructional strategies in higher education.
• Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the varying needs of students.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying information and interacting with students and colleagues.
• Uphold high ethical standards, setting a professional example for others.
• Adhere to all college policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity, student conduct, and instructional delivery.
• Follow CIAT’s compliance requirements to ensure all Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies and procedures are fulfilled.
• Maintain communication guidelines to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism.
• Must embody CIAT’s mission, vision, purpose, and values.
• Remote work must be conducted while residing in California, Florida, Massachusetts, or New Mexico.
