This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Observe and take action on alerts related to security, network, systems, and cloud environments.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to assess, resolve, or escalate issues as necessary.
• Keep detailed records of incidents, investigations, daily activities, findings, and actions taken in response.
• Work closely with senior engineers and analysts for collaborative problem-solving.
• Engage in on-call rotations and provide shift coverage to support 24/7 operations.
• Comply with company policies, client requirements, and relevant compliance standards.
• Recognize opportunities for process and operational efficiency enhancements.
• Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and threat intelligence platforms.
• Conduct initial triage and event correlation utilizing runbooks.
• Confirm alerts and minimize false positives.
• Report suspicious activities and potential security incidents as needed.
• Assist in vulnerability management and track remediation efforts.
• Supervise server health, service performance, infrastructure metrics, and system alerts.
• Help with service restarts, log collection, and patch validation.
• Oversee Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Assess Azure Monitor and AWS CloudWatch for service health metrics.
• Report production cloud issues promptly.
• Ensure backups, replication status, and recovery readiness are validated.
• Contribute to cloud governance and compliance initiatives.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
• Internship experience or relevant coursework in networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration is advantageous.
• Preferred certifications (or willingness to acquire): CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST).
• 0-1 year of experience in a help desk, technical support, SOC, or IT operations setting.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles such as phishing, malware, vulnerabilities, and least privilege.
• Fundamental knowledge of networking and systems concepts, including IP addressing, DNS, firewalls, and Windows/Linux operating systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to adhere to structured processes while accurately documenting work.
• Capacity to manage multiple alerts, prioritize tasks effectively, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continually enhance technical skills.
• Basic familiarity with SIEM, EDR, ticketing systems, or security tools through coursework, labs, internships, or self-study is a plus.
• Ability to support a 24/7/365 operational environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
