Smart Contracts Engineer, EVM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and create backend systems that manage intricate DeFi interactions, such as trade routing, transaction simulation, and analytics.

• Write, audit, and uphold robust, gas-efficient smart contracts using Solidity.

• Collaborate with frontend and protocol teams to guarantee seamless integration throughout the Odos stack.

• Perform performance profiling, and optimize for gas costs and execution time.

• Keep abreast of the latest DeFi protocols, standards, and best practices in smart contract development.

• Lead and engage in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning sessions.

• Contribute to cross-chain infrastructure and assist in expanding Odos to new blockchains.

• Write and maintain thorough documentation for both internal and external purposes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional backend engineering experience.

• Strong expertise in one or more backend programming languages: Rust, Go, Node.js, or Python.

• Experience in designing scalable APIs, data processing systems, or infrastructure for financial or real-time applications.

• More than 2 years of practical experience in writing smart contracts with Solidity.

• Demonstrated experience in deploying, testing, and maintaining contracts on Ethereum or EVM-compatible chains.

• Extensive knowledge of smart contract security, gas optimization, and upgradeability patterns.

• Solid understanding of DeFi protocols and foundational concepts.

• Familiarity with token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, ERC-4626), decentralized exchanges (Uniswap, Curve, Balancer), and lending protocols (Aave, Compound, etc.).

• Capability to analyze complex on-chain interactions and liquidity mechanics.

• Proficient with Web3 development tools.

• Comfortable simulating and analyzing Ethereum transactions.

• Strong systems and architectural thinking abilities.
