Distribution Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Independently create design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems tailored for Leidos electric utility clients.

• Evaluate client-provided work and assess the requirements of project scopes.

• Execute engineering calculations, including structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, determining conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculating voltage drop and flicker.

• Offer engineering support throughout the construction phase, including post-construction reviews to ensure compliance with all relevant engineering and construction standards.

• Conduct root cause analyses of outages and devise mitigation strategies utilizing engineering principles and design.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is mandatory.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.

• Proven experience in executing distribution projects from inception to design approval, including customer engagement and process documentation.

• Familiarity with utility reliability projects is essential.

• Ability to demonstrate mastery of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).

• A valid U.S. driver's license is required.

• Willingness to undertake both field and office tasks; ability to work outdoors on occasion.
