This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Independently create design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems tailored for Leidos electric utility clients.
β’ Evaluate client-provided work and assess the requirements of project scopes.
β’ Execute engineering calculations, including structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, determining conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculating voltage drop and flicker.
β’ Offer engineering support throughout the construction phase, including post-construction reviews to ensure compliance with all relevant engineering and construction standards.
β’ Conduct root cause analyses of outages and devise mitigation strategies utilizing engineering principles and design.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is mandatory.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
β’ Proven experience in executing distribution projects from inception to design approval, including customer engagement and process documentation.
β’ Familiarity with utility reliability projects is essential.
β’ Ability to demonstrate mastery of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
β’ A valid U.S. driver's license is required.
β’ Willingness to undertake both field and office tasks; ability to work outdoors on occasion.
