Site Reliability Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Recruit, mentor, and establish clear objectives for the SRE team

• Collaborate with service owners to define SLOs and implement the error budget policy

• Operate the observability platform continuously in production, including SLOs and alerting

• Create deployment guardrails such as canary rollouts and automated rollback procedures

• Proactively identify partner service degradation using synthetic monitoring and vendor scorecards

• Streamline manual incident responses by automating tasks like recording incident timelines and composing status updates

• Transform post-mortem insights and incident trends into comprehensive platform improvements

• Monitor SLO compliance and reliability metrics that affect end users

• Provide guidance to product engineering teams regarding reliability

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure engineering roles

• At least 3 years in leadership positions within engineering

• In-depth understanding of SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets

• Practical experience in instrumenting Java, Python, and Go services using OpenTelemetry

• Proficient in using Terraform

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, and Java

• Experience with deployment strategies such as canary rollouts, auto-rollback, and auto-scaling

• Knowledge of reliability patterns including retries, backoffs, DLQs, transactional outbox, and feature flags

• Capability to plan, prioritize, and manage expectations, especially during incidents and retrospectives

• Proven experience in conducting blameless retrospectives to identify the root causes of complex issues
