Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Assist the team and enhance the current development infrastructure by implementing automation to optimize the pipeline.

• Aid in the management of the current collection of Linux servers, gradually expanding into a larger set of EC2 instances.

• Oversee production Oracle and MySQL databases.

• Collaborate with developers to enhance and automate testing, deployment, and monitoring workflows.

• Create and maintain scripts as necessary, primarily using PHP.

• Identify and resolve production issues.

• Provide third-line technical support for customer and client requests.

• Report to the Operations Engineering Management.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

• Experience in Linux administration.

• Proficiency in scripting/programming, particularly in Unix shell scripting.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, etc.).

• Good grasp of Apache, Nginx, relational and key-value databases, DNS servers, and related technologies.

• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructures, especially AWS.

• Experience with Kubernetes for the automation of deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

• Proficient in using Terraform for infrastructure management.

• Experience in deploying and supporting multiple staging and development environments.

• Experience in maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines using tools such as ArgoCD / CircleCI.

• Experience in implementing, operating, and supporting open-source tools for network and security monitoring and management on Linux/Unix platforms.

• Experience with Postgres.

• Experience with security practices in AWS.

• Quick learner with the ability to adapt rapidly to changing environments.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills.

• Outstanding communication and organizational skills in English.
