This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Support the MEP Project Manager in finding and assessing potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Aid in formulating scopes of work for the MEP Project Manager's review and approval.
• Contribute to the creation of the MEP project schedule within the overall construction timeline.
• Prepare estimates related to MEP self-performed work and assist in the comprehensive project estimate.
• Oversee and manage all trades throughout the construction process.
• Assist in the selection of qualified bidders and negotiate final pricing.
• Help in the preparation of various reports, such as cost-to-complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
• Review all drawings, including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., upon issuance to the field, and ensure maintenance of an up-to-date set at all times.
• Aid in pricing work, drafting changes, and preparing change orders for the MEP Project Manager's review.
• Help ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to project completion.
• Schedule work, including that of subcontractors.
• Assist in tracking productivity and quantities of the subcontractors’ installed work.
• Determine necessary materials, equipment, and tools.
• Secure appropriate supply sources.
• Set up and close out the construction site.
• Act as the on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
• Participate in the company's safety segment of the QMS program.
• Responsible for procuring tools and materials to be delivered at designated times in accordance with work schedules.
• Collaborate with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various construction phases to avoid delays.
• Consult with supervisory personnel to address complaints and grievances within the workforce.
• Prepare or review reports on progress, materials utilized, and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from the MEP Project Manager.
• Establish and uphold high safety and quality standards aligned with company, industry standards, and job specifications.
• Ensure the implementation and maintenance of the company QMS program in accordance with company standards.
• Generate reports and traceability for ongoing improvement.
• Responsible for communicating, implementing, and enforcing Gray’s safety program on-site.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Proficient in people management.
• Basic computer skills are necessary, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets, and smartphones.
• Experience with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
• A strong work ethic and an energetic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a team environment is essential, along with a passion for collaboration and professional development.
• Must have the ability to think independently and manage without needing direction.
