This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Support the MEP Project Manager in identifying and assessing potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Aid in formulating scopes of work for review and approval by the MEP Project Manager.
• Assist in the creation of the MEP project schedule as part of the overall construction timeline.
• Prepare estimates related to MEP self-performed tasks and contribute to the overall project estimate.
• Demonstrate the capability to assist in coordinating and managing all trades throughout the construction process.
• Help select qualified bidders and negotiate final pricing agreements.
• Assist in compiling various reports, such as cost-to-complete, monthly billings, and status updates.
• Review all issued drawings, including P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc., and ensure a current set is maintained at all times.
• Assist in pricing work, drafting alterations and change orders for review by the MEP Project Manager.
• Help ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project.
• Coordinate and oversee on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to project completion.
• Schedule tasks, including those of subcontractors.
• Aid in tracking subcontractors' productivity and the quantities of their installed work.
• Determine necessary materials, equipment, and tools.
• Secure appropriate supply sources.
• Set up and close out construction sites.
• Act as the on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
• Responsible for the procurement of tools and materials to be delivered timely to meet work schedules.
• Collaborate with and guide supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating different construction phases to avoid delays.
• Consult with supervisory personnel to address complaints and grievances within the workforce.
• Prepare or review reports on progress, materials utilized, and costs, and adjust work schedules based on reports and/or guidance from the MEP Project Manager.
• Establish and uphold high safety and quality standards in line with company policies, industry standards, and job specifications.
• Ensure the company Quality Management System (QMS) program is utilized and maintained according to company standards.
• Generate reports and ensure traceability for continuous improvement.
• Responsible for communicating, implementing, and enforcing Gray’s safety program on-site.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR at least 15 years of related construction experience with increasing responsibility in place of a degree.
• Experience in the light/heavy industrial sector is highly preferred.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong skills in people management.
• Basic computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), as well as familiarity with tablets and smartphones.
• Experience with MS Project and other scheduling software is a plus.
