This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of predictive time-series, AI, and machine learning models to forecast product sales across Slate’s various business units, regions, and segments.
• Track forecast accuracy, bias, and related metrics to enhance forecasting models.
• Collaborate with SI&OP Analysts on root-cause variance analyses and evaluations of planning deviations.
• Convert complex analytical outputs into practical operational insights.
• Create models for inventory optimization, safety stock development, and the reduction of supply capacity constraints.
• Establish and maintain forecasts and processes for demand and supply scenario planning.
• Perform scenario analyses to assess service levels, costs, and operational risks.
• Own and expand data pipelines and ensure data quality for automated KPI reporting dashboards.
• Develop, monitor, and report on SI&OP KPIs, including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and production/procurement performance.
• Assist in the monthly SI&OP cycle through meeting preparation, analysis of recommendations, and KPI reporting.
• Propel continuous improvement in SI&OP processes, forecast accuracy, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
• Work collaboratively across departments, including Sales, Marketing, Brand, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Finance, and business units, to formulate a rolling 12–24 month executable business plan.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Finance, or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• Over 6 years of experience in Data Science is required.
• Direct experience in SI&OP, Demand Planning, or Business Management/Strategy is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics for developing forecasting models.
• Knowledge of data interpretation along with statistical and non-statistical forecasting models.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and/or data analysis tools such as SmartSheets, Tableau, Alteryx, or scripting languages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in startup environments.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with both external partners and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
