This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee the generation of the DES model from initial concept modeling to a fully detailed representation of the program/system that aligns with design scope, operational principles, performance metrics, safety, quality, delivery, cost, personnel, and environmental objectives.
• Direct the optimization of systems, implement cost avoidance strategies, and capture best practices while sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with design teams to create and enhance solutions by considering multiple attributes within established deadlines and time constraints.
• Steer the process using product knowledge and an awareness of potential design limitations to ensure thoughtful consideration is given when developing solutions.
• Coordinate and lead projects and team feedback on results as necessary through design/project reviews and DES Dashboards.
• Spearhead the optimization of the DES model against various model derivative mixes and operational parameters.
• Conduct bottleneck analysis of the system and formulate strategies to eliminate them, leading volume throughput increase studies and system "what if" scenarios.
• Direct the process to comply with vehicle derivative sequencing and build-to-sequence rules.
• Assist in the ongoing development of tools and techniques that enhance capabilities and improve the quality and robustness of DES models.
• Proven working knowledge and experience with Discrete Event Simulation Toolset.
• Established background in production process flow simulation and problem-solving for complex technical systems.
• Prior experience in bottleneck analysis utilizing Discrete Event Simulation.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver Discrete Event Simulation to meet program KPIs and targets.
• Strong project and people management abilities.
• Experience in production environments.
• Capability to develop and present presentations to work groups and senior management.
• Preferred relevant degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
• Comprehensive understanding and application of Lean Tools and Techniques.
• Experience in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
• Proven strong engineering techniques, including technical risk management.
