This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver confidential, trauma-informed crisis intervention and support to both primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault.
• Evaluate safety requirements and offer personalized support, resources, referrals, and safety planning.
• Employ active listening, empathy, and nonjudgmental communication to empower survivors and facilitate informed decision-making.
• Provide details on medical, legal, advocacy, counseling, and community resources while honoring survivor autonomy.
• Maintain professionalism and composure when assisting callers in crisis situations.
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies, ethical standards, and mandated reporting obligations.
• Coordinate referrals, warm handoffs, and services with community providers, hospitals, law enforcement, and advocacy programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Advocate for the rights, choices, and access to appropriate support for survivors.
• Maintain professional relationships with community providers and agency staff.
• Keep accurate client records and documentation of services provided.
• Collect and accurately input survivor service data into necessary systems.
• Assist with exam room oversight, OSHA compliance, supply inventory, and maintenance coordination.
• Engage in staff development, quality assurance, and program meetings.
• Maintain open lines of communication with program leadership concerning operations and service strategies.
• Exhibit accountability, ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect for all individuals.
• Comply with agency policies regarding ethics, supervision, confidentiality, safety, and information security.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Understanding of trauma and the effects of domestic and sexual violence.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the community.
• Comfortable working with diverse populations.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including some evenings.
• Commitment to ethical standards and excellence in service delivery.
• Proficient in necessary computer and technical systems.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a negative drug screening prior to hiring and throughout employment.
• Clear criminal background check throughout employment, with local checks conducted prior to hiring and annually thereafter.
• DCF Level II screening required before hiring and as mandated by DCF.
• Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record throughout employment.
• Reliable vehicle with valid registration and insurance is required.
• Compliance with Florida laws and administrative codes, including fingerprinting and determination of good moral character.
• Sufficient computer and technical skills to perform job responsibilities and to train others.
• Ability to work full-time with flexible hours if necessary.
• Completion of ACT (30-hour Florida Council Against Sexual Violence Advocacy Core Training), including at least 2 hours of instructor-led role-plays and a minimum of 4 hours of on-the-job training.
• Completion of 8 hours of ongoing sexual violence training annually is mandatory.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance and fulfill all required annual training.
