Settlement and Trading Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Daily Settlement Execution: Supervise and manage the complete processing of crypto and fiat transfers, ensuring all transactions are finalized with precision and within strict settlement timelines.

• Data Reconciliations: Conduct thorough checks between internal ledgers and external bank/custodian statements to detect, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in account balances.

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Analyze failed transfers or inconsistent data by crafting sophisticated SQL queries and reviewing distributed transaction logs to pinpoint root causes in real-time.

• Workflow Automation: Create and maintain intermediate Python scripts (utilizing libraries such as pandas or requests) to automate intricate reconciliation tasks, minimizing manual interventions and enhancing efficiency.

• AI Integration: Actively engage AI tools and LLMs to expedite script development, perform anomaly detection on settlement data, and draft technical documentation for operational workflows.

• Reporting & Analytics: Design and refine recurring dashboards and data models to monitor transaction health, liquidity trends, and operational performance for leadership teams.

• Cross-Functional Engineering Support: Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to stress-test new features, provide insights on API architecture, and assist in the development of internal settlement tools for Zerohash.

• Technical Client Support: Serve as the primary technical contact for institutional clients, resolving complex transaction inquiries and API integration challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional experience in financial operations, payments, or a similar back-office settlement position.

• Intermediate Python Proficiency: Strong capability to write, debug, and maintain Python scripts.

• Intermediate SQL Knowledge: Skilled in crafting complex queries, including multi-table joins, subqueries, and Common Table Expressions (CTEs) to analyze large datasets.

• AI Proficiency: Required experience with AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude) to boost productivity, optimize code, and address operational challenges more effectively.

• API Fundamentals: Solid understanding of API architecture and experience using tools like Postman to interact with production-grade financial environments.

• Attention to Detail: A proven history of maintaining high accuracy in transactional settings where precision is vital to prevent financial losses.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related technical discipline.

• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
