This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Develop and spearhead InnovAge’s comprehensive pharmacy strategy encompassing clinical pharmacy, distribution pharmacy, medication management, Part D, and pharmacy operations.
• Provide counsel to executive leadership regarding pharmacy performance, participant care, growth strategies, risk management, compliance, and financial implications.
• Standardize pharmacy practices, workflows, policies, and performance metrics across various markets.
• Assess opportunities for pharmacy growth, service model enhancement, operational investments, technology requirements, and infrastructure needs.
• Drive pharmacy transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, safety, adherence, service levels, scalability, and financial results.
• Assemble and manage a high-performing pharmacy leadership team with defined accountability, decision-making authority, and succession planning.
• Oversee pharmacy-related P&L performance, revenue generation, expense management, cost optimization, margin analysis, forecasting, and budget adherence.
• Set financial targets, develop dashboards, create reporting frameworks, implement performance improvement plans, and establish KPIs.
• Manage medication cost control, formulary optimization, utilization oversight, adherence initiatives, and the reduction of unnecessary medication expenditures.
• Provide executive supervision of clinical pharmacy strategy, medication management, Part D performance, CMS compliance, and clinical pharmacy integration.
• Incorporate pharmacy into interdisciplinary care teams, primary care workflows, chronic disease management, deprescribing efforts, and participant education.
• Supervise PBM relationships, contract execution, formulary strategies, utilization management, and compliance responsibilities.
• Oversee distribution pharmacy operations, adherence packaging, dispensing, production, inventory, site performance, and service delivery.
• Ensure adherence to federal and state pharmacy regulations, Board of Pharmacy standards, DEA, FDA, HIPAA, CMS, Part D, and corporate policies.
• Manage pharmacy systems, dispensing technologies, quality assurance processes, corrective action plans, training, workforce planning, leadership development, and operational readiness.
• Maintain the executive relationship with AnewHealth while establishing partnership governance, performance standards, escalation protocols, and accountability frameworks.
• Ensure audit preparedness, policy formulation, quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and mitigation of pharmacy-related risks.
• Travel as necessary, including overnight trips when required.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in pharmacy, focusing on clinical pharmacy, pharmacy operations, medication management, PBM, Part D, distribution pharmacy, or similar healthcare environments.
• 7+ years of senior leadership experience managing teams, multiple functions, enterprise-wide programs, or multi-site operations.
• Proven experience in overseeing pharmacy financial performance, budget management, cost optimization, and P&L accountability.
• Background in leading pharmacy strategy within a complex, regulated healthcare setting.
• Extensive knowledge of Part D, CMS regulations, medication utilization management, PBM operations, formulary strategies, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing or collaborating with distribution pharmacy, dispensing operations, adherence packaging, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or similar pharmacy models.
• Demonstrated success in building scalable operations, enhancing service performance, and leading transformation across cross-functional teams.
• Experience in managing strategic vendor or external partner relationships.
• Preferred: experience in PACE, value-based care, Medicare, Medicaid, capitated care, or complex geriatric care frameworks.
• Preferred: experience in leading pharmacy strategy within a multi-state or multi-market healthcare organization.
• Preferred: experience overseeing both clinical pharmacy and pharmacy operations/distribution functions.
• Preferred: strong expertise in pharmacy analytics, population health, medication utilization modeling, and total cost of care strategies.
• Preferred: experience collaborating with PBMs, pharmacy vendors, clinical technology partners, and/or external pharmacy operating partners.
• Preferred: proven ability to influence C-suite executives, board-level stakeholders, and cross-functional executive teams.
• Preferred: demonstrated capability to lead growth initiatives, assess business cases, and scale pharmacy services effectively.
• Preferred: thorough understanding of Board of Pharmacy requirements, DEA regulations, controlled substance oversight, audit preparedness, and pharmacy compliance frameworks.
