This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with the Chief Investment and Digital Officer (CIDO) to establish the digital vision and strategy, leading its implementation through the new digital line of business.
• Coordinate with the Senior Vice President of Technology and IT Operations to guarantee robust technical delivery, operational efficiency, and security measures.
• Spearhead the creation and development of the new digital line of business, converting the strategic plan into quantifiable outcomes related to digital growth, membership, and engagement.
• Formulate both short-term and long-term plans, develop business cases, and manage budgets for the digital portfolio.
• Track performance against established targets and reallocate investments to opportunities with high returns.
• Establish the vision and a multi-year roadmap for online, mobile, conversational, and emerging digital banking channels.
• Foster personalization and self-service functionalities to enhance member relationships and boost digital adoption.
• Develop digital marketing and member-growth capabilities that encompass acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and cross-selling.
• Collaborate with leaders in retail, small business, commercial, wealth management, and insurance to integrate digital capabilities.
• Create and manage an innovation function, covering everything from horizon scanning and ideation to validated pilots and scaled deployment.
• Guide the responsible integration of AI and machine learning, including generative AI.
• Design and implement an open banking and open data strategy aligned with Canada’s Consumer-Driven Banking framework.
• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop the team and its leadership.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is required.
• At least twelve (12) years of progressive experience in the financial services sector or in digital/technological products, with significant experience in digital growth.
• A minimum of ten (10) years in senior leadership roles with responsibility for a substantial product portfolio, business line, or equivalent commercial mandate.
• Proven track record in navigating complex business environments, fostering high-performing teams, and propelling strategic growth.
• Specialized knowledge in the relevant functional area of responsibility.
• Demonstrated success in launching and scaling digital banking, payments, data/AI initiatives, or fintech-enabled products and partnerships.
• Strong grasp of digital marketing and member-growth drivers, including digital acquisition, personalization, lifecycle marketing, and performance analytics.
• In-depth knowledge of banking, wealth management, and insurance operations, products, and the relevant regulations governing financial institutions.
• Comprehensive understanding of open banking/consumer-driven banking, payments modernization, AI governance, and data privacy and protection requirements.
