Senior Vice President, Advancement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all Advancement initiatives, encompassing major gifts, annual contributions, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, and donor communications.

• Guide, mentor, and nurture the Advancement team members, including training in Powerful Conversations.

• Create and implement comprehensive fundraising campaigns from the quiet phase to the public launch.

• Develop major gift pipelines, identify potential donors, lead discussions with donors, and personally manage key relationships and stewardship efforts.

• Advise the President and Board on strategies for fundraising and donor engagement.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of gift processes, donor agreements, and public-facing materials.

• Supervise donor recognition, stewardship reporting, and gift acknowledgment procedures.

• Guarantee compliance with gift-accounting standards, relevant laws, and regulations.

• Manage fundraising reports, dashboards, and presentations.

• Foster institution-wide awareness and engagement with fundraising priorities.

• Examine giving trends and donor data to guide decision-making and long-term strategies.

• Enhance Reach University’s philanthropic initiatives to support access to higher education and upward mobility through workplace-based pathways.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus.

• Over 10 years of experience as a fundraising leader and business professional.

• More than 5 years in a VP of Advancement/Development or Chief Development Officer role within a nonprofit or higher education setting.

• At least 15 years of experience in fundraising, sales, development, advancement, or a related field.

• Proven success in securing major and principal gifts through relational, trust-based engagement with donors.

• Demonstrated ability in people management.

• High proficiency in CRM/donor databases.

• Understanding of gift-accounting principles and nonprofit fundraising regulations.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

• Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.

• Competence in analyzing giving data and donor pipelines.

• Experience in optimizing advancement team structures and redesigning fundraising processes.

• Expertise in multi-year fundraising and campaign planning, including major capital campaigns.

• Comprehensive knowledge of gift structures, planned giving vehicles, prospect research, donor stewardship, and relational fundraising.
