This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Accurately process complex payrolls for both U.S. and Canadian employees in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial, local, union, prevailing wage, and certified payroll regulations.
• Evaluate wage calculations, deductions, withholdings, taxes, fringe benefits, and modifications related to employees.
• Oversee union payrolls, including reporting on union fringe and ensuring compliance with union agreements.
• Manage the processing and reporting of prevailing wage and certified payroll.
• Reconcile payroll, tax, and bank accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Identify potential risks and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with wage and hour regulations, union agreements, payroll laws, and reporting standards.
• Coordinate payroll-related initiatives, monitor action items, follow up with stakeholders, and ensure project completion.
• Lead the prioritization of payroll activities on a daily basis.
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding payroll issues, tax-related matters, and system enhancements.
• Provide support for the newly implemented Workday environment and foster continuous improvement within payroll operations.
• Must possess construction experience, including knowledge of prevailing wage and union practices.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.
• At least 3 years of experience handling union payroll processing and reporting.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with prevailing wage regulations.
• At least 3 years of experience in high technical payroll processing.
• Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in Excel, including skills in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Experience in job costing and allocating payroll expenses to projects.
• Familiarity with union environments and the complexities of union payroll.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.
