This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Accurately process intricate payrolls for both U.S. and Canadian operations in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial, union, prevailing wage, and certified payroll regulations.
• Assess wage calculations, deductions, withholdings, taxes, fringe benefits, and employee modifications.
• Oversee union payrolls, including the reporting of union fringe benefits and compliance with union contracts.
• Handle the processing and reporting of prevailing wage and certified payrolls.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of payroll, tax, and bank accounts.
• Identify potential risks and resolve any payroll discrepancies that arise.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, union agreements, payroll legislation, and reporting obligations.
• Coordinate payroll-related projects, monitor action items, engage with stakeholders, and ensure project completion.
• Lead the daily prioritization of payroll tasks.
• Liaise with stakeholders to resolve payroll concerns, tax issues, and system improvements.
• Provide support for the newly implemented Workday environment and foster continual enhancements in payroll operations.
• Construction experience is essential.
• Experience with prevailing wage regulations is required.
• Union experience is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing is necessary.
• At least 3 years of experience in union payroll processing and reporting is needed.
• A minimum of 3 years of prevailing wage experience is required.
• At least 3 years of high-level technical payroll processing experience is essential.
• Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate to expert level, including skills in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
• Quick adaptability to new systems is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
• Experience with job costing and payroll cost allocation to projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with union environments and the complexities of union payroll is necessary.
• Ability to maintain standard business hours with some flexibility to meet deadlines and support payroll cycles.
