This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Accurately and timely process intricate payrolls for both U.S. and Canadian employees.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial, union, prevailing wage, and certified payroll regulations.
• Review calculations of wages, deductions, withholdings, taxes, fringe benefits, and changes pertaining to employees.
• Administer and execute union payrolls, which includes reporting on union fringes and compliance with union agreements.
• Oversee the processing and reporting of prevailing wage and certified payrolls.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of payroll, tax, and bank accounts.
• Identify potential risks and rectify discrepancies in payroll.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, union agreements, payroll regulations, and reporting obligations.
• Coordinate payroll-related projects, monitor action items, communicate with stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Prioritize daily payroll tasks effectively.
• Engage with stakeholders regarding payroll concerns, tax issues, and system improvements.
• Provide support for the newly implemented Workday system and foster ongoing enhancements within payroll operations.
• Must possess experience in the construction industry.
• Must have experience with prevailing wage processes.
• Must have experience working with unions.
• Minimum of 3 years in processing multi-state payroll.
• At least 3 years of experience in union payroll processing and reporting.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with prevailing wage.
• At least 3 years of high-level technical payroll processing experience.
• Intermediate to expert proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
• Experience with job costing and allocating payroll expenses to projects.
• Familiarity with working in union settings and managing union payroll complexities.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline (preferred).
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification (preferred).
• Capability to maintain standard business hours while demonstrating flexibility as necessary to meet deadlines and support payroll cycles.
