This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Accurately process intricate payrolls for the U.S. and Canada in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, provincial, union, prevailing wage, and certified payroll regulations.
• Examine wage calculations, deductions, withholdings, taxes, fringe benefits, and employee modifications.
• Manage union payrolls, including union fringe reporting and compliance with union agreements.
• Oversee the processing and reporting of prevailing wage and certified payroll.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of payroll, tax, and bank accounts.
• Identify payroll risks and rectify discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, union agreements, payroll regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate payroll-related initiatives, monitor action items, follow up with stakeholders, and ensure project completion.
• Lead the daily prioritization of payroll tasks.
• Engage with stakeholders regarding payroll issues, tax concerns, and system improvements.
• Provide support for the recently implemented Workday environment and promote continuous enhancement of payroll operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.
• At least 3 years of experience in union payroll processing and reporting.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with prevailing wage.
• At least 3 years of experience in high technical payroll processing.
• Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros.
• Capacity to quickly learn new systems.
• Experience in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with job costing and allocating payroll expenses to projects.
• Experience in union environments and managing union payroll complexities.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification (preferred).
