Senior Underwriting Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive wing-to-wing underwriting decisions, beginning with the assessment of preliminary underwriting data and tools.

• Manage additional underwriting necessities by assessing value, placing orders, and reviewing to facilitate risk selection.

• Conclude cases effectively.

• Input medical history data and utilize system workbenches to process and make decisions on cases.

• Exhibit reliability, organization, and sound judgment by following schedules and achieving all productivity, quality, and performance benchmarks.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10+ years of experience in Life Insurance Underwriting, demonstrating a strong understanding of underwriting processes and philosophies.

• Capability to manage advanced decision-making authorities independently, without requiring a co-signature (for amounts of $2.5 million or above).

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships both internally and externally.

• Strong critical thinking abilities and attention to detail, enabling quick identification of information through categorization, estimation, recognition of differences or similarities, and detection of changes in situations or events.

• Skill in interpreting information for others; capable of translating or clarifying what information signifies and its potential applications.

• Competence in establishing specific goals, planning, and prioritizing work effectively.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; BGA and Trial Experience are advantageous.
