This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and enhance the visual language of MARVEL SNAP throughout the game's interface and player experience.
• Take ownership of UI art from initial exploration to final, game-ready implementation.
• Produce UI assets such as screens, panels, buttons, icons, badges, backgrounds, decorative elements, effects, and other 2D graphic materials.
• Convert UX flows and gameplay requirements into clear, intuitive, and visually engaging UI solutions.
• Develop visual explorations, high-fidelity compositions, prototypes, and style guides.
• Collaborate with UX Designers, Game Designers, Engineers, Producers, Product Managers, and other artists.
• Establish and uphold cohesive visual standards across UI features and systems.
• Create and refine iconography, typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and visual design systems.
• Design UI interactions and visual states, including transitions, feedback, and emphasis.
• Implement UI art directly in the game engine, ensuring assets are performant, scalable, and ready for production.
• Rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine designs based on playtesting, feedback, and product needs.
• Identify opportunities to enhance UI quality and usability.
• Establish efficient UI art workflows, processes, and best practices.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to other artists.
• Contribute to the visual identity of MARVEL SNAP, a game developed by Second Dinner in collaboration with Marvel.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in UI, UX, or game art.
• Proven experience contributing to at least one commercially released game.
• Strong portfolio showcasing outstanding UI design, visual design, iconography, and game interface work; portfolio submission is required.
• Solid foundations in visual design, composition, typography, color, hierarchy, iconography, and information design.
• Experience in taking UI concepts from initial rough exploration to polished, production-ready assets.
• Deep understanding of UX principles and human-computer interaction.
• Experience designing for various screen sizes, resolutions, and aspect ratios.
• Familiarity with creating visual systems and maintaining consistency across UI elements and features.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or similar tools.
• Experience working directly within a game engine and understanding UI implementation requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Capability to work independently, manage priorities, and make sound visual decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
• High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Nice-to-have: experience with card, collectible card, or strategy games; live-service games; mobile or multiplatform games; motion design; Unity or another game engine; UI scripting or programming; UI component libraries and design systems; mentorship or visual direction; Marvel or licensed IP.
