Senior 2D Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop and produce high-quality 2D artwork, which includes concept art, character designs, environment illustrations, icons, and textures.

• Collaborate effectively with Art Directors, Game Designers, Technical Artists, 3D teams, and Tech Art teams.

• Establish and uphold the artistic vision along with a consistent visual style across projects.

• Create mood boards, style guides, and paint-overs to assist in visual development.

• Design UI/UX mockups and generate associated UI graphics.

• Integrate 2D assets into the game engine seamlessly.

• Iterate based on feedback and adjust designs to meet gameplay requirements and technical limitations.

• Prepare promotional artwork, key art, and marketing materials.

• Produce beautifications and concept art for presentations of new game ideas and pitches.

• Assist in the development of mood boards and visual direction.

• Present new game ideas and pitches effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Art, Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• A strong portfolio that showcases a diverse range of 2D art styles and concept art.

• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.

• A solid understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling.

• Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a bonus.

• A structured, proactive, and team-oriented working style.

• Experience in creating key art or promotional illustrations for games.

• Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and the ability to craft user-friendly interfaces across various platforms and input methods.

• Basic knowledge of 3D workflows or fundamental 3D modeling/lighting skills.

• An understanding of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine) and their requirements for 2D assets.
