
Senior Trial Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act on behalf of insured clients and Allstate in matters involving bodily injury, property damage, and various insurance defense litigation cases.
• Prepare for and carry out hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Draft and present motions before and after trials.
• Support colleagues in managing scheduling conflicts.
• Advise business clients on everyday legal issues.
• Oversee projects and facilitate collaboration among legal teams.
• Track and assess new laws, regulations, and case law developments.
• Identify and summarize pertinent legal matters.
• Work in conjunction with other segments of the Law and Regulation department.
• Offer proactive guidance to business units regarding the implications of new legislation.
• Supervise legal representation.
• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated litigation experience or significant litigation-related skills.
• Ability to formulate case strategies, perform legal research, and advocate effectively.
• Capacity to handle complex disputes and function effectively under pressure.
• Preference for candidates with first or second chair jury trial experience.
• Prior experience in insurance defense is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with preferred experience in LexisNexis and internet research.
• Strong skills in teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to manage a significant caseload.
• Comfortable working in a remote setting.
• Must be willing to undergo a background check.
• Allstate typically does not sponsor employment-based visas for this role.
