Senior Trial Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Serve as a representative for insured individuals and the Company in defending against bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, as well as in subrogation and Allstate Financial cases.

• Prepare for and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.

• Draft and present pre- and post-trial motions.

• Assist colleagues in managing calendar conflicts.

• Provide legal advice to business clients regarding daily operations.

• Oversee projects and facilitate collaboration among legal teams.

• Keep track of and assess new laws, regulations, and case law.

• Identify and summarize pertinent legal issues.

• Work in conjunction with other divisions of the Law and Regulation department.

• Offer proactive guidance to business units concerning the implications of new laws.

• Supervise legal representation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must hold a license to practice law in the state of California.

• Candidates must reside in CA, WA, AZ, NV, or OR.

• Juris Doctorate is required, along with active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.

• A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated litigation experience or strong litigation-related skills, including case strategy development, legal research, and advocacy.

• Ability to handle complex disputes and perform effectively under pressure.

• Experience as first or second chair in jury trials.

• Proven background in insurance defense is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, and conducting internet research.

• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work alongside attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants under the direction of Lead Counsel.

• Ability to manage a significant caseload.

• Comfortable in a remote working environment and willing to travel throughout California for trials and court appearances as necessary.

• Background investigation will be required.

• Allstate typically does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this role.
