Civil Litigation Associate Attorney – Tribal Rights

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Advocate for clients in intricate civil litigation cases that involve Tribal sovereignty, treaty rights, land disputes, and Indigenous legal interests.

• Prepare legal documents including motions, pleadings, briefs, and other essential filings.

• Perform legal research and devise innovative and effective litigation strategies.

• Oversee discovery, case preparation, negotiations, and various other stages of litigation.

• Work collaboratively with seasoned attorneys on complex legal challenges and high-stakes disputes.

• Provide assistance with serious personal injury, wrongful death, and related civil litigation cases.

• Handle assignments autonomously while ensuring outstanding advocacy and client service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.

• Must have active admission to a U.S. state bar.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation is required.

• Demonstrated experience in drafting substantive motions, conducting legal research, and understanding litigation processes.

• Strong skills in written communication, analytical reasoning, and oral advocacy are essential.

• Capability to independently handle litigation responsibilities in a remote environment.

• Current residency in Washington or Oregon is required.

• Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred.

• Familiarity with Tribal law, federal Indian law, treaty rights, civil rights, or complex litigation is advantageous.

• A genuine commitment to representing Tribal interests and promoting Indigenous rights is essential.

• Relevant judicial clerkship experience will be considered.
