
Senior Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Puerto Rico.
• Lead and manage intricate transmission line designs from initial engineering concepts to final designs, which encompasses EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.
• Offer senior-level technical guidance and expertise to design teams, ensuring precision, adherence to best practices, and top-tier design solutions.
• Execute essential engineering assessments such as conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance evaluations, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance assessments in accordance with NESC and relevant standards.
• Analyze and implement regulatory requirements including NERC, FERC, and regional standards, ensuring compliance in all project deliverables.
• Create and assess technical documentation, including specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers on project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing strategies, construction support, and management of change orders.
• Conduct and review QA/QC processes for engineering outputs, production drawings, CAD deliverables, and construction administration tasks, addressing design-related field challenges.
• Lead field inspections, measurements, calculations, and installation assessments for both public and private sector clients.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, support marketing and business development initiatives, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and contractors.
• Mentor, lead, and guide junior engineers, ensuring effective communication across disciplines and adherence to company safety, quality, and performance standards.
• B.S. in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or a related field)
• Over 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering (design, analysis, modeling, or similar)
• More than 5 years of experience with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm
• At least 5 years of experience using PLS-CADD
