
Senior Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead and manage intricate transmission line designs from initial concept through to final design.
• Offer senior-level technical guidance and expertise to the design team.
• Conduct essential engineering studies including conductor economic analyses, lightning performance evaluations, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance assessments.
• Interpret and implement regulatory requirements such as NERC, FERC, and regional standards.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with project managers on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, construction support, and change order management.
• Perform and review QA/QC on engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, and construction administration tasks.
• Conduct and lead field inspections, measurements, calculations, and installation reviews for both public and private sector clients.
• Develop and deliver technical reports, support marketing and business development initiatives, and cultivate strong relationships with clients and contractors.
• Provide mentorship, leadership, and direction to junior engineers.
• B.S. degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Power Engineering (or a related field).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering (design, analysis, modeling, or similar).
• At least 5 years of experience with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience using PLS-CADD.
