Senior Thermal Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the requirements for cold-weather operations and storage, including the impacts of snow and ice, as well as self-draining solutions.

• Analyze alternatives for heaters and pumps, focusing on thermal performance, duty cycles, isolation necessities, and potential failure modes.

• Collaborate with CFD, mechanical, electrical, materials, and validation teams to ensure effective thermal analysis.

• Establish thermal verification techniques and assess empirical test data provided by customers or vendors.

• Formulate recommendations that balance performance, costs, manufacturability, and the implications of revalidation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in thermal systems, thermal analysis, HVAC, energy systems, battery systems, or fluid-system engineering.

• Strong foundational knowledge in thermal requirements, heat transfer, cold-weather design, freeze protection, heaters, pumps, insulation, and thermal interfaces.

• Proficient in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and test correlation.

• Experience in steady-state and transient thermal analysis utilizing hand calculations, 1D models, or 3D tools as required.

• Preferred experience with heaters, pumps, cold-weather performance, or temperature-controlled products.

• Proficiency in English at the B2–C1 level.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.

• Capability for technical leadership and sound decision-making.

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

• Effective time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to documentation.
