Senior Testing Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +19 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of testing and quality assurance for designated projects by developing and implementing thorough test strategies.

• Design and carry out functional, workflow-oriented, performance, and accessibility testing for mobile products and services.

• Create and maintain automated tests along with testing workflows.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and acceptance criteria, identify risks, and convert them into testing methodologies.

• Perform testing utilizing assistive technologies and automated tools to ensure compliance with government accessibility standards.

• Validate fixes and ensure functionality across both development and production environments.

• Recognize quality risks, gaps, and opportunities to enhance testing processes and technical workflows.

• Incorporate AI and automation into testing workflows.

• Build and nurture client relationships while advising on quality, testing, accessibility, and risk management.

• Present testing strategies, findings, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Educate clients and delivery teams on mobile quality, accessibility best practices, assistive technologies, and testing methodologies.

• Collaborate with leadership, stakeholders, and accessibility experts to enhance accessibility practices.

• Establish and uphold QA best practices, including test planning, defect triage, documentation, accessibility compliance, and technical workflows.

• Share knowledge on testing, tools, methodologies, and AI practices with team members.

• Contribute to company initiatives, communities of practice, proposals, engagement planning, solution development, and growth activities.

• Identify opportunities to leverage testing expertise, AI, automation, or emerging technologies to develop scalable capabilities and boost efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, particularly in testing mobile applications.

• Experience collaborating with the federal government, with prior experience with the VA being preferred.

• A proven history of independently managing testing and quality assurance for complex projects and delivering superior results with minimal oversight.

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, automated testing, mobile application development, and iterative delivery processes.

• Experience with cross-platform and cross-browser testing on iOS and Android.

• Solid understanding of mobile accessibility standards, guidelines, and testing methods.

• Experience utilizing assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and speech recognition.

• Experience testing intricate, rules-intensive systems while considering technical implementation, accessibility, compliance, business processes, and operational realities.

• Ability to build trust with clients, clearly communicate technical information, understand stakeholder needs, and provide thoughtful suggestions.

• Capacity to navigate ambiguity, proactively identify risks, make informed decisions, and adjust testing strategies as requirements and priorities shift.

• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and cross-functional teams while maintaining ownership of quality and testing results.

• Demonstrated capability to utilize AI and automation to enhance testing workflows, minimize manual effort, increase quality, or improve delivery effectiveness.

• Consistently uphold high standards for quality, accessibility, documentation, and follow-through.

• Willingness to engage in company initiatives, knowledge sharing, practice development, and growth activities.

• Must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, or Washington.

• The contract this position supports requires US Citizenship.

• Preferred: experience testing complex applications in regulated or highly controlled environments; knowledge of React Native; familiarity with automated mobile testing frameworks or CI/CD testing workflows; accessibility strategy or remediation expertise; experience with AI-enabled testing tools or AI-assisted testing approaches.
