Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain automated testing suites utilizing Playwright.

• Create and manage performance and load testing scenarios with JMeter.

• Develop reusable testing utilities, data strategies, and scalable testing methodologies.

• Construct and maintain a shared foundation for uniform AI-generated tests.

• Ensure the health of the testing suite as the volume of authored tests rises.

• Leverage AI-assisted tools to generate, enhance, and uphold test cases and test data.

• Guide coding agents through the authoring loop by supplying context and evaluating output.

• Examine generated tests for potential silent failure modes.

• Utilize AI to identify coverage gaps and suggest edge cases while applying risk-based judgment.

• Employ AI-assisted triage to differentiate likely regressions from intermittent failures.

• Implement self-healing and auto-repair tools with appropriate guardrails.

• Validate AI-enabled product behavior to ensure correctness, reliability, and uncover unintended outcomes.

• Incorporate recurring defect and failure patterns into shared context and guidelines.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines based on GitHub Actions.

• Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to enhance pipeline quality standards.

• Manage test scope and execution order to balance coverage, risk, and feedback timelines.

• Write tests and failure outputs that are comprehensible to both AI agents and engineers.

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to clarify requirements and identify quality risks early in the process.

• Lead efforts to solve technical and testing challenges with cross-functional partners.

• Set team standards for AI-driven test creation.

• Document and communicate testing strategies, their trade-offs, and outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer within production environments.

• Strong practical experience using Playwright for both UI and API testing.

• Familiarity with performance and load testing using JMeter or equivalent tools.

• Proficient programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, Java, or Python.

• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions.

• Understanding of contemporary architectures, including web applications, APIs, and cloud-based systems.

• Regular, demonstrated use of at least one modern AI-assisted development tool.

• Capability to critically analyze AI-generated tests and code, pinpointing shallow coverage, flawed assumptions, and seemingly plausible output that may not be valid.

• Experience testing AI-enabled or data-driven systems is a plus.

• Familiarity with designing automation frameworks or shared testing infrastructure is beneficial.

• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, or quality metrics that extend beyond simple pass/fail testing is advantageous.

• Experience in building evaluation harnesses or test strategies for non-deterministic systems is beneficial.

• Expertise in structuring context for AI tooling, including prompt design, retrieval, or packaging codebase and domain knowledge for code and test generation, is advantageous.

• A well-defined perspective on where AI-assisted testing can provide genuine benefits is a plus.
