📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of intricate data migration projects, which includes gathering requirements, extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and providing go-live support.

• Assess complex legacy data frameworks and devise migration strategies that consider the system-level implications within First Due's architecture.

• Write advanced SQL to extract, join, and transform data from SQL backups, CSV, XML, TXT, and multi-system exports.

• Address multi-system consolidations, implement new modules, manage non-standard data structures, and fulfill advanced operational requirements.

• Conduct quality assurance on deployed data and rectify discrepancies with minimal need for escalation.

• Convert customer operational models and legacy data structures into First Due's architecture.

• Identify gaps and edge cases, suggest solutions, or escalate actionable insights to the Product team.

• Assist customers in making data-related decisions and act as the technical representative in customer-facing data discussions.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in SQL and data architecture while mentoring junior analysts.

• Provide technical guidance and oversight across ongoing migration projects.

• Contribute to the development of internal tools, process design, and documentation.

• Collaborate with Implementation Managers to define the scope and sequence of data tasks.

• Work with Data Operations on load specifications, environment readiness, and deployment in production.

• Support Product and Engineering teams by providing feedback on schema modifications, import tools, and data features.

• Engage in ETL pipeline and automation projects.

• Create or assist in developing scripts, templates, and workflows to minimize manual labor.

• Explore AI-assisted workflows and tools.

• Stay updated on contemporary data engineering practices and tools.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in data migration, data operations, or a technical implementation position within a SaaS environment.

• Extensive experience in writing SQL from the ground up, including complex joins, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, and output validation.

• Thorough understanding of relational databases, structured data formats, and data modeling principles.

• Proven ability to manage Enterprise-level customer relationships with a detailed, technical focus.

• Demonstrated experience acting as the primary technical liaison with customers, translating complex data topics into clear, actionable advice.

• Proficient in mentoring and coaching others on SQL, data practices, and migration methodologies.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, conditional formatting, and data cleansing.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple concurrent complex projects.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills that are clear and professional.

• Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer in the United States.

• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

• Preferred: Experience with ETL pipeline concepts, workflow orchestration, and data pipeline automation tools such as dbt or Airflow.

• Preferred: Familiarity with data warehouse architectures, staging environments, and schema-as-code practices.

• Preferred: Experience with cloud data infrastructure, such as AWS S3, Redshift, or RDS.

• Preferred: Knowledge of data validation frameworks and automated testing methodologies.

• Preferred: Experience with Fire/EMS data standards or public safety technology.

• Preferred: Understanding of GIS data components and geospatial data management.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Python, Rust, or Bash for data transformation or automation purposes.

• Preferred: Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
