Senior Technical Program Manager – Robot Skills Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of the robot skills roadmap.

• Convert the product roadmap into implementable execution plans that include milestones, scope, and timelines.

• Balance long-term technical objectives with immediate commercial rollout requirements.

• Manage technical dependencies and ensure alignment among the Robot Software, AI Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and Fleet Orchestration teams.

• Establish operational rigor and process clarity through the use of Jira.

• Enhance sprint mechanics and metrics, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and address roadblocks.

• Lead the development of manipulation and perception capabilities from the prototyping phase and feasibility assessments to commercially viable, pilot-ready production features.

• Provide updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding project status, timeline deviations, and risk management strategies.

• Travel for up to two weeks per quarter to customer sites, Agility offices, or offsite locations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in technical program management or project management with a focus on software engineering lifecycles in an Agile software development setting.

• Experience in driving programs for complex software systems that directly interact with physical hardware, including robotics, autonomous vehicles, embedded systems, or IoT.

• Advanced knowledge of Jira or similar tools for managing workflows, cross-team dependencies, and program roadmaps.

• Demonstrated ability to influence the roadmaps of cross-functional partners and facilitate team progress without formal authority.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively with senior leadership.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.

• Preferred: Knowledge of or experience with perception systems, robotic manipulation and control pipelines, or machine learning frameworks such as Learning from Demonstration.

• Preferred: Experience utilizing reliability data, including Pareto analysis and root-cause analysis, to drive bug fixes and systemic improvements.

• Preferred: Experience transitioning software from prototyping and validation to dependable commercial deployments.

• Preferred: Familiarity with simulation environments for test coverage, validation, and release readiness on physical systems.

• Must possess current authorization to work in the United States.
