This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Take charge of the banking platform roadmap that encompasses accounts, deposits, cards, and lending under a unified ledger and account model.
• Assess core banking platforms and processors, perform vendor due diligence, model costs and time-to-market, and assist in build-versus-buy decisions.
• Design account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, chart-of-accounts mapping, posting rules, holds, interest and fee accrual, and integration with the general ledger.
• Manage product requirements for transfers, ACH, card issuance and network settlement, real-time rails, returns and reversals, exception handling, cutoff windows, and settlement reconciliation.
• Guarantee reporting, traceability, controls, reconciliation breaks, balance attestation, and a comprehensive transaction history for Finance, audit, and regulatory purposes.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal to convert regulatory requirements into platform features.
• Oversee data mapping, parallel-run strategies, validation criteria, rollback plans, and phased cutover for migrations.
• Create detailed technical specifications, API contracts, event schemas, data models, user stories, and release plans.
• Write SQL, establish platform KPIs, and track posting latency, reconciliation break rate, settlement accuracy, and failure rates.
• Anticipate technical risks, edge cases, race conditions, and dependencies.
• Deliver results against evolving regulatory and business timelines even with incomplete information.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (required).
• 5–10 years of product experience, with significant exposure to financial infrastructure.
• Proven ownership in ledgers, general ledgers, or balance and transaction systems; payments processing or money movement; card issuing; deposit, wallet, or account platforms; lending platforms; or product work with processors, BaaS providers, or core banking vendors.
• Proficiency in double-entry accounting concepts, including debits and credits, sub-ledgers, accruals, and reconciliation, or a genuine eagerness to learn them swiftly.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of APIs, event-driven architecture, idempotency, distributed-system failure modes, batch versus real-time processing, and data flows.
• Strong SQL capabilities and the ability to query and interpret data autonomously.
• Experience working directly with Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Treasury stakeholders.
• Capacity to navigate ambiguity and make well-documented decisions with incomplete information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, data models, or generative AI applications.
