This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.
• Take ownership and organize the roadmap for the banking platform that supports accounts, deposits, cards, and lending using a unified ledger and account model.
• Assess core banking platforms and processors, carry out vendor assessments, model costs and time-to-market, and assist in making build-versus-buy decisions.
• Develop account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, chart-of-accounts mapping, posting rules, holds, interest and fee accrual processes, and general ledger integration.
• Establish requirements for transfers, ACH, card issuance and network settlements, real-time processing, returns, reversals, exception management, cutoff periods, and settlement reconciliations.
• Ensure comprehensive reporting, traceability, controls, reconciliation, balance verification, and complete transaction history for Finance, audit, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to convert regulatory requirements into platform capabilities.
• Manage migration and cutover planning, which includes data mapping, conducting parallel runs, validation, rollback strategies, and phased cutover processes.
• Draft thorough technical specifications, API agreements, event schemas, data models, user stories, and release plans.
• Define and track platform KPIs such as posting latency, reconciliation break rates, settlement accuracy, and failure rates using SQL.
• Identify potential technical risks, edge cases, race conditions, and dependencies.
• Meet evolving regulatory and business deadlines despite incomplete information.
• Work closely with Engineering, Finance, Compliance, Treasury, and Risk teams.
• A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (mandatory).
• 5–10 years of product management experience, specifically with significant financial infrastructure involvement.
• Proven ownership of ledgers, balance and transaction systems, payment processing, money movement, card issuance, deposit/wallet/account platforms, lending platforms, or product roles at a processor, BaaS provider, or core banking vendor.
• Familiarity with double-entry accounting principles including debits and credits, sub-ledgers, accruals, and reconciliation, or a genuine eagerness to learn them quickly.
• Profound technical knowledge of APIs, event-driven architecture, idempotency, distributed-system failure modes, and the distinctions between batch and real-time processing along with data flows.
• Strong SQL proficiency with the ability to independently query and analyze data.
• Experience collaborating directly with Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Treasury stakeholders.
• Capability to navigate ambiguity and make informed, documented decisions with incomplete information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across engineering, Finance, and executive discussions.
• Practical familiarity with AI tools, data models, or generative AI applications.
• Preferred qualifications include direct core banking platform experience; core migration, conversion, or major ledger replacement experience; experience within a chartered or licensed financial institution; familiarity with consumer finance regulations; experience with consumer credit or BNPL, card products, or bank-fintech sponsorship; and knowledge of third-party risk management and vendor oversight.
