This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for collaborating closely with product management teams to establish a distinct strategic direction for development needs and communicates that vision to the build and/or operations team.
• You will lead the team with a comprehensive and detailed set of requirements and collaborate with the team to assess what can be accomplished by balancing the demand for new features, defects, and technical debt.
• Your main focus is on ensuring seamless integration and alignment of viewpoints from a diverse group of stakeholders: Product Managers, Technical Anchors, Product Owners, and Developers.
• Exhibit exceptional product and industry expertise, helping the organization to secure a competitive advantage.
• Engages with customers/stakeholders in gathering VOC requirements, refining, and acquiring product feedback.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver features and complex products.
• Holds a profound understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product.
• Frequently collaborates with UX, Architecture, and engineering teams on various issues and decisions.
• Conducts interviews with customers and stakeholders and elaborates on personas.
• Exhibits expert persuasion and influencing skills to ensure alignment among customers, product managers, and engineering teams.
• Manages the release and sprint backlogs for short-term roadmaps for MVPs and quarterly releases.
• Owns and organizes the backlog; continuously prioritizes to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of the backlog are always prepared.
• Prioritizes continuously based on understanding and validating customer problems and needs.
• Demonstrates strategic expert-level skills in problem decomposition and adeptness in navigating ambiguity.
• Regularly engages (50% of the time) with the development team; facilitates discussions, provides clarifications, story acceptance and refinement, testing, and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions.
• Converts unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units.
• Partners with Development Leadership to ensure a healthy development process.
• Mentors junior team members.
• Provides technical leadership to TPMs across the organization.
• Proficient in Agile Methodology: Coaches others.
• At least 8 years of experience.
• Recent exposure to AI tools for driving innovation in engineering product management processes.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Proven capability to analyze and resolve issues.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management programs throughout development, go-to-market, and end-of-life phases.
• Solid understanding of software design and coding principles.
• Experience in an Agile work environment.
• Familiarity with diverse implementation options.
• Demonstrates knowledge of technical subjects such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security.
• Shows initiative in exploring alternative technologies and approaches for problem-solving.
• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating efforts.
• Capable of analyzing the impact of technology decisions.
• Proficient in negotiating to align stakeholders and communicate a unified perspective to the scrum team.
• Balances value propositions among competing stakeholders.
• Displays knowledge of the competitive landscape.
• Understands market technologies to inform buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and drive market timing decisions.
• Familiar with Agile development processes utilized in GE Digital, including feature backlog management in Aha and Engineering Scrum team management for release planning and execution.
• Knowledgeable about the technical characteristics of Renewable Energy, Wind and Solar Farms, Energy Storage, Energy Markets, Power Plants, Power Plant Performance, and Power Plant Operations.
• Experience in developing or managing complex products utilizing multiple services, databases, and application servers.
• Familiar with both on-premise and cloud solutions, as well as single server vs. multi-server/HA architectures.
• Experienced in troubleshooting customer-reported issues.
• Knowledgeable in system tools like Aha!, Rally, and Splunk.
