Senior Technical Product Manager – APIs & Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the complete lifecycle for API and integration products, encompassing strategy, roadmap, feature definition, and execution.

• Establish how ComPsych integrates with customer systems, technology vendors, and key strategic partners.

• Be responsible for the vision and roadmap of the API and integration portfolio.

• Set API design standards, versioning and deprecation protocols, security and authentication models, developer experience guidelines, and build/buy/partner strategies.

• Manage the integration strategy across HRIS, payroll, benefits, leave and absence, carrier, identity, and other partner integrations.

• Identify, assess, and oversee technology vendors and strategic partners.

• Develop integration requirements, as well as commercial and technical terms, and collaborative go-to-market strategies.

• Manage the product backlog, create detailed stories, mitigate risks, and assist teams in overcoming obstacles.

• Translate customer, partner, and market needs into product requirements and ensure alignment with leadership on business value.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams on API contracts, data models, authentication, performance, reliability, and monitoring.

• Establish and monitor API and integration success metrics.

• Utilize AI for research, requirements gathering, and prototyping; implement AI and automation to streamline implementation efforts and minimize operational friction.

• Conduct workshops and engage with customers, partners, and internal teams to identify opportunities and validate assumptions.

• Equip customer-facing and implementation teams with product knowledge, documentation, go-to-market strategies, and competitive positioning.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of owning API, integration, or platform products.

• Proficient in creating and communicating API roadmaps, API-as-a-product concepts, lifecycle management, versioning, and enhancing developer experience.

• Capability to read and assess API specifications, such as OpenAPI.

• Ability to analyze data models and system architectures effectively.

• Familiarity with REST, webhooks, event-driven architectures, OAuth/SSO, API gateways, JSON, XML, and flat-file/SFTP.

• Experience collaborating with vendors and partners to build, launch, and scale integrations.

• Skilled in negotiating scope, managing dependencies, and driving joint outcomes.

• Background in an agile development setting, with experience in writing detailed stories, managing backlog health, sequencing incremental value delivery, and working with cross-functional teams.

• An analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to define and measure success through clear business metrics.

• Capacity to advance initiatives through influence without formal authority.

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational, self-motivated, dependable, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.

• Preferred experience in HR tech, leave/absence management, benefits, or digital health.

• A technical background, such as a degree in computer science, engineering, or experience in solutions architecture, is preferred.

• Familiarity with iPaaS, middleware, and partner marketplaces is advantageous.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a distraction-free workspace are required.

• Must be available to appear on camera during work-related training sessions, meetings, and/or events.

• Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods while working on a computer.
