This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Take charge of technical design projects spanning various departments and ensure the maintenance of scalable processes for the Level Design team.
• Collaborate with Engineering to create frameworks for new experiences, balancing technical robustness, scalability, and designer usability.
• Create and uphold technical design documentation, effectively communicating asset requirements across teams.
• Enhance game performance and uphold quality standards and best practices for asset implementation.
• Design and develop layouts, levels, parameters, and features using the Unity Editor.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior and mid-level designers.
• Work with Production to synchronize game releases with company objectives.
• Lead level design efforts for app localization tailored to diverse markets, languages, and cultural contexts.
• Gather qualitative feedback from children's user tests and quantitative metrics, converting insights into design strategies.
• Assist in the prototyping of simple game experiences using internal tools.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Level Designer or Technical Game Designer.
• Preferably possess experience in mobile or educational gaming.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and launching games or interactive experiences using Unity.
• Proficient in the Unity Editor for level design, feature configuration, and game parameters.
• Strong grasp of technical optimization practices within Unity.
• Experience in writing and maintaining comprehensive design documentation and specifications.
• Solid understanding of interaction design, game mechanics, player motivation, and principles of level design.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across production, UX, art, and engineering teams.
• Adhere to high-quality standards and exhibit attention to detail in gameplay refinement.
• Experience with children's digital content or products aimed at ages 2–8 is a plus.
• Familiarity with scripting logic or visual scripting tools is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English is essential; certifications are not required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written formats, particularly in asynchronous and long-form contexts.
• Must be eligible to work in Spain; EU visa sponsorship is available if required.
