Senior Technical Consultant, Modern Apps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Develop software by designing, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying high-quality production code within client projects.

• Take ownership of specified features, components, and small workstreams from start to finish.

• Lead hands-on development efforts for both new and existing application projects.

• Write, review, debug, and enhance production-quality code across contemporary application stacks.

• Address challenging technical issues with efficient and well-architected solutions.

• Mentor junior consultants through code reviews, technical coaching, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools and build, as well as judiciously apply, AI agents.

• Integrate AI into story creation, requirements refinement, engineering documentation, and other software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities.

• Create architectural documents and high-level technical designs when necessary.

• Apply design patterns and recognize anti-patterns in applications, APIs, and cloud-native systems.

• Support practices related to quality, security, testing, DevSecOps, and operational readiness.

• Contribute to technical deliverables, implementation plans, and reusable engineering assets.

• Occasionally assist with pre-sales, scoping, and solutioning activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound expertise in at least two of the following: Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python.

• Strong capability to design, write, debug, and review intricate application code.

• Extensive understanding of the complete software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodologies.

• Significant experience with test-driven development, testing strategies, and producing robust code.

• Solid knowledge of architecture, design patterns, and anti-patterns.

• Experience in developing modern applications, APIs, and cloud-native services.

• Practical experience with security, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, and practices ensuring production readiness.

• Strong proficiency in AI development tools, particularly Claude Code.

• Ability to structure context, set expectations, validate outputs, and leverage AI effectively across coding and related SDLC activities.

• Excellent mentoring skills and the capability to assist junior engineers in enhancing their skills through direct technical guidance.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.

• Capability to work autonomously and resolve complex technical challenges with minimal oversight.

• Preferred: robust consulting experience in application development, architecture, or modernization.

• Preferred: familiarity with automated software analysis tools.

• Preferred: experience in leading whiteboarding sessions and technical design discussions.

• Preferred: involvement in the community through writing, speaking, or technical leadership.

• Preferred: experience in supporting technical scoping, RFPs, or pre-sales initiatives.
