This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the development of sophisticated animation systems and enhance real-time character performance within Unreal Engine 5.

• Implement and set up animation assets and systems directly in Unreal Engine 5.

• Design, maintain, and optimize intricate Animation Blueprints and real-time procedural systems, including Cloth Simulation, IK, and secondary dynamics.

• Fine-tune, enhance, and troubleshoot Motion Matching and advanced locomotion systems.

• Optimize animation assets, real-time systems, and editor environments for improved performance and memory efficiency.

• Identify and resolve technical animation issues in Maya and the game engine.

• Work closely with animation and engineering leads to enhance production workflows, document tools and processes, and provide mentorship to the team.

• Collaborate with design, art, engineering, animation, and audio teams to create a memorable AAA gaming experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional technical animation experience in the video game industry.

• At least one completed AAA title.

• Extensive, practical knowledge of UE5 animation tools, including Animation Blueprints, Control Rigs, Montages, Notifies, and Rewind Debugger.

• Deep understanding of Motion Matching, Motion Warping, Control Rigs, Full-Body IK, Retargeting, Ragdoll, and Cloth Simulation.

• Strong understanding of human anatomy and kinesiology.

• Clear grasp of traditional animation principles and their application within real-time gameplay constraints.

• Professional proficiency in French and English for candidates based in Quebec.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to convey complex ideas clearly, tailor information for diverse audiences, and offer constructive feedback.

• Self-driven, responsible, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
